We are pleased to have as guests at the RBYC Kite and Shango both world travelers. I’ve asked them to join Avenir rafting up in St Georges harbour to watch the dinghy races Sunday. Please join us!

A bit of background.

Jack and Zdenka Griswold began editing Voyages in 2017. In June 2016 they finished a 7-year, double-handed circumnavigation on Kite, their Valiant 42. They live in and sail out of Portland, Maine.

Amy Jordan and Roger Block were awarded the Vilas prize for their article “Why in the World Would You Go to the Solomon Islands?”.  In the southern summer of 2012-3, Amy and Roger sailed their Pacific Seacraft 40, Shango to the seldom-visited Solomon Islands for the cyclone season. Their story tells vividly of deserted but often exposed anchorages, and the poor but generous people - farmers, fishermen, carvers and artists - who shared their homes, meals and stories.

Bring your own food and drink. Drop me a line to let me know if you can join us.

Regards

Les
