 SEPTEMBER 2018
Fall Greetings to everyone! Here is the schedule of our CCA Buzzards Bay Post lunches for the upcoming "off season." Starting next month, we will get together on the last Friday of each month, with the exception of combining our November/December sessions into a single one on December 7th to minimize conflict with Thanksgiving and Christmas.

     October 26th

     December7th

     January 25th

     February 22nd

     March 27th

     April 26th

In general we plan to use the Beverly Yacht Club but with at least one or two lunches at the New Bedford Yacht Club; we will request RSVP's a week ahead of time to get the right head counts for the lunches. As always, we will invite our friends from the Narragansett and Gulf of Maine Posts to join us. All Station members are always welcome.

Bob Rosbe did a great job adding photos to the announcements; we wish to continue that so please forward pictures we might include.

We'll look forward to seeing you on October 26th.

Larry Hall

Post Captain

Paul Bushueff

Post Secy/Treas

April 12, 2018 The Buzzaards Bay Post, with 45 people in attendance, visited the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute. The day started with a tour of the Ocean Sensors Lab and proceeded on to the Deep Submergence Lab and finished with a tour of the Research Vessel "Neil Armstrong." Lunch was held at the Captain Kidd restaurant with a presentation by President and Director, Mark Abbott.

A special thanks to Ted Brainard for arranging this outstanding event.

Pictured below are our post members awarded CCA Circumnavigation Pennants at Friday's lunch: starting from the left, Peter and Jen Francis, new member Jim and Dee Woodward, Ed Van Keuren, and Rear Commodore Tim Surgenor who joined us to award the pennants.  Peter Cassidy could not attend but was represented by his father Frank Cassidy, Captain of the Gulf of Maine Post, who joined us as a special guest.

Following the awards and wrapping up our winter lunch series, we owe a big vote of thanks to Jennifer and Peter Francis for providing us with a superb slide presentation on their 1980's circumnavigation (1 1/2 times around) with "Nunaga" a Sailmaster 45.

In other post business, Nick Newman (for the Post nominations committee) announced that for the next two years Larry Hall has agreed to serve as our new Post Captain and Paul Bushueff has agreed to serve as our new Post Secy/Treasurer.  With these two we can be assured that our Post will be in good hands!

The Buzzards Bay Post enjoyed a record turnout for the February lunch at the Beverly Yacht Club on Friday the 24th.  Sandy Weld gave a great talk and slide show discussing the virtures of cruising the coast of Newfoundland.

Windigo, moored in a snug harbor on the north east coast of Newfoundland.  Our next gathering will be in Woods Hole for lunch and a tour of the R/V Neil Armstrong and WHOI on April 12th.  More information to follow.

Also, catching up on our website content, We enjoyed lunch and a great tour of Jennifer and Peter Francis' new 70' Catamaran under construction at the Goetz boatyard in Bristol, RI, on January 27th.  Group picture on the new big Cat attached.
